Asha Princeton is hosting a talk by Dr. V. Suresh and his wife Saila,
PUCL activists.

Dr. Suresh is an Advocate, Madras High Court; General Secretary, People's
Union for Civil Liberties; Founder, Organizational Development and
Excellence Consultants; Chennai, INDIA
With two decades of work with the human rights movement, Dr. Suresh, 45,
serves as general secretary for the People's Union for Civil Liberties
(PUCL), a national human rights organization responding to human rights
violations and increasing human rights awareness. His wife Saila is also
an activist for PUCL. As an advocate in the Madras High Court, Dr. Suresh
strives to advance legal principles drawn from comparative law to support
his human rights law work. He works directly with the government of Tamil
Nadu, and for the past 5 years has been intensely involved in initiatives
aimed at government efficiency, transparency, and integrity. Dr. Suresh
guides organizations and governmental institutions in change efforts,
strategic planning, and civic engagement through his work with the
Organizational Development and Excellence Consultants. In this, his first
visit to the U.S., Dr. Suresh will utilize his fellowship to address
issues such as human rights and civil liberties, conflict resolution, good
governance, and public sector efficiency.
