Dear all,
Recently, we had a chapter poll to vote on a new project
proposal,
Vamsadhara. Vamsadhara's mission is to support the
welfare of children in rural Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, India by
focusing on education, health and social justice.
Vamsadhara made a proposal to Asha SF for annual
funding of Rs 8,64,800 (approx $15,580).
The results of the poll are as follows:
Yes - 1
No - 3
Due to majority vote, Asha SF will not be funding Vamsadhara.
The majority opinion was that Vamsadhara is a high-quality
project creating tremendous impact in the community it serves.
However, given that the co-founder is deeply connected and
actively attached to Asha SF's day-to-day operations, it is
more advisable for Vamsashara to approach other Asha chapters and/or
other funding organizations. This may allow for a more objective and
unbiased evaluation of the proposal, and also for Asha SF to
manage any potential conflict of interest situation and
external concerns.
We congratulate and thank Vamsadhara for embarking on its
commendable initiative to serve underprivileged children in Andhra
Pradesh, and wish them all the best in their fundraising efforts.
Regards,
Namita
