From: "Raj Chauhan" To: "infinisri" Subject: RE: Review of Guria1 Date: Sat, 14 May 2005 11:53:06 -0700 Thanks Sri. =20 Is it possible that the site visit report (2nd document on the website) be linked to the WAH website where there is a list of all the project proposals?=20 Can you please ask Presi to do that. That report is more comprehensive than current link and will answer most of the questions folks may have. =20 Overall, I think the project is really solid and good. The proposal can be drafted with more details and color. May be my questions can help you some in that regard. In the meantime couple of questions: 1. Regarding use of night shelter =16 can you please elaborate on what are all the uses during day and night in addition to providing a secure place for children to sleep? By providing some other examples and other functional uses of this shelter - it will give a more compelling reason to fund this. Also, the balwadi that is held every day - what are the premises for that like? Can that take place in the "night" shelter? 2. I hate to be nitt-picky on this one as costs seem reasonable to me but many times folks are concerned about how cost estimates were derived? On what basis or metric have the estimates been arrived at? And also, what is biswa...need 4 biswa? 3. Who is the architect and do they have a draft plan/blue print? If yes, then it might be a good idea to put it on the web. More details are better than less. 4. When can be the local approvals for the construction be expected to be granted? 5. Excluding the construction of the night shelter, what is the annual budget of Guria and how is it funded? A small table with activity and source of funding will be helpful. 6. Has Govt. (or any govt. agency) been asked to help in any regard in the past? What was the outcome if it has been contacted for some help? I would also suggest creating a FAQ for folks who may have some general questions about this initiative and the project. (also, a text interview with Ajeet Singh could also be very effective and get the message to Asha volunteers...just a thought) Thanks Raj --- infinisri wrote: > Thanks Raj for contacting me. I see a detailed budget, background of the founders missing from the proposal for Guria. http://data.ashanet.org/datastore/data/Events/WAH/WAH05Proposals/index.htm Also, I would recommend having a couple of stories of the children in the proposal. A call or two to India should get you most of this info and hence, make the proposal more compelling. Good Luck
