Report from Natpurva, June 2005 (Translated with SKI's help)

         Natpurva School
It is three years since the school at Natpurva is running.The school has
given us a lot of strength.We talked to and coaxed the villagers,on the
account of which about 70-75 students are coming to the school.The
teaching staff includes respected Samta ji,ChandraLekha ji,Guddu ji and
NeelKamalji.
After teaching,we people(Guddu,Samta,chandraLekha,NeelKamal)also monitor
other works going on in the area.Since we do not have the power to give
the TC's(Transfer Certificates) as well as Mark sheets(Report Cards) to
the kids once they leave/pass respectively,most of the students studying
over her are taking admissions in other schools.This problem needs to
solved as quickly as possible.We are also preparing for the process of
registration so as to dael with this problem.

Government School(Sikrori)
We have started our work in this school school also.Since the school has
about 300 students but unfortunately only one teacher ,we have sent
another teacher(RiniVaha) so as to help in the smooth running of the
school.

MeeraKheda School
We have Durgesh ji,Rambabu ji teaching at the MeeraKheda School.All the
students are the kids of laborers.It is two years since the school is
running.There is no budget for the school till date.

Girls Centre in Natpurva
This centre is run daily from 5 pm to 7pm.This centre is for relatively
older girls who study in classes ranging from Class 5 to Class 10.

Natpurva Women Union
There is a union of about 50-55 women which keeps it meetings on the 5th
day of the month.The situation of the village and future plans and
directions are discussed in detail over here.All the women collectively
decide the decisions pertaining to the village.

Other Works going on in the area
Dharana Pradarshan (Conducting Strikes),Meetings,arranging food in
Government schools,scholarships.It is also monitored whether the student
is progressing in academics smoothly or not.IF there is any incident
encountered by  lady ,then to help her  provide governmental support,right
to information,Right to work,Right to food etc.
We pay heed to every or any problem faced by the society.If any person is
need of any help at any time,we try our level best to help him/her.

Our Questions with the Boston Group
1.Is it mandatory that any construction by Asha will only be on the land
that is donated to the association.Is it not possible that the
construction is done on those lands also which either belongs to a noble
man or which belongs to the community formed by the village?

2.We often come to hear that we have to become self-dependent,funds can
stop coming at any time .Contrary to this fact our entire work  and time
goes in these social activities.We wish to give preference to social
work?What to do?

3.The budget is passed only for one year and then too, there is no
Constancy in it.After one year or 6-7 months ,we people start to have 
worries whether or not the budget will be passed or not.I sometimes feel
that it hinders to our work of attaining the desired goals.Why can't be if
we pass a budget for 5-10 years,set a goal and dedicate ourselves
completely in attaining the goal?
