Creation and Activities:

Background of founder(s):                    Mr. Purnachander Rao (Secretary of NICE) one of the founders of NICE hails from a poor family background. He finished his schooling from a school offering free education and pursued his graduation with great financial difficulties. It was during his education that he felt the need to work for the education of the underprivileged; given the difficulties he had faced for his own.
After his graduation he worked for a private company for two years and had started volunteering for CRY and continued for 10 years involving himself very actively at the grass roots level. Later in 2001 he along with his friends conceived the NICE initiative and got it functional in May 2002.

It so happened that Prasanna Kumar had visited the school and had given his report to Asha Berkeley when he visited Berkeley in 2003. And it was approved based on his discussion with volunteers at Asha Berkeley and as such there wasn’t any discussion between volunteers at Asha Hyd and Asha Berkeley to provide you the minutes of Q&A of the meeting or conference call at which the project was approved.
