- VARUN finds a suitable area to start a school and starts a school. Works on the school to bring it up to a reasonable state and hands it over to govt.
- They have done this to 2 schools
- They currently have 6 schools
- They work on self help groups (women micro finance) - introduce organic farming and seed bank
- Library in 5 villages
- Permanent structures in Shahpur, Dobahi and Lerha
- FCRA aplied in feb 2005, they are still waiting on it.
- People involved: Dr. S.P.Singh, Mr. A.K.Singh
- 384 students (might go upto 400 students). Last year was total 200 students.
- VARUN works on other extension activities other than self-help grps and schools:
  - RTI, NREGA and health issues
  - Participating in solving issues in the 3 villages of Naugarh block
- On request from Women Federation of Naugarg block, Dr. Singh will be guiding them as community extension worker. Initial survey report wll be sent soon

Evaluation:
- Shahpur primary school has been taken over by govt. This took a year longer.
- New school started in Jhariya
- Training women in stitching - due to funding issue and priorities this did not take off
- 15 children cleared std V. 8 students from 4 villages to appear in 2010
- Constantly trying to update people about NREGA and RTI
- 100% result in class 5 and 8.
- 5 kids dropped out
- 10 students participated in "child skill development program"
- 2 teachers hired for Sukhdeopur
- RTI workshops were conducted by SP Singh. 6 applications have been filed.
- NREGA training was funded last year. 79 participants in the mtg. They have at least 24 folks have been employed through NREGA after this training.
- Budget:
  2010-11: Rs. 4,77,820.00 requested from Asha SV). this has been reduced from what they gave initially. 
  2009-10: Rs. 4,57,820.00

Q: Why has Dr.SP Singh sal reduced?
A: This year he has spread his salary across extension programs and the school
Q: What is education wall painting?
A: They paint multiplication tables, etc on the walls. they save a lot on stationary because of this budget line.
