Dear Presi,

Greetings.

In March this year it was decided that AERC dormitory will be built inside my school complex, i.e. Isai Ambalam School, as we found out that adjacent lands can be utilised for the school purpose when the need for expansion comes.  A plan was drawn in April and it was being scrutinised.  I wanted to inform you as soon as the scrutiny was over and the  plan was approved by all of us.  But the Aurovilian architect and contractor to whom we had given this work were not available till the 3rd week of June.  After discussion modifications were suggested and carried out, and the final plan arrived today.  It was fully satisfactory.  We gave a go-ahead to the construction.  Actual construction is likely to start by the last week of July and it is expected to get finished wi   thin 2 months of starting.  The in-between 3 weeks are needed to complete the Auroville formalities for construction inside Auroville area which the architect and the contractor will take care of and finish.  As soon as the construction starts I will again inform you.  If you feel like seeing the plan please e-mail and I will scan it and send it to you.

During the February conference of the Learning Net in Chennai, Jayashree heard the whole matter and said that she will discuss it with her chapter to divert this dormitory fund for Isai Ambalam School if the place for dormitory could not be got.  I told her somehow we will find a place and build it as it is very necessary because we expect lot of people to come here for training in the coming year because of the seriousness with which Tamil Nadu Government and several other state governments are implementing the Sarva Shiksha Abhyan (Education For All) scheme.  And hence this diversion will not be needed and fund-raising for our earlier proposal can go on.

I wanted to inform you about it after I had located a place and drawn the plan.  I could not be sure of the plan till last week, and hence did not inform you about it.

Thanking you all and please convey our warm regards to all Asha people.

Peace, Truth, Love and Joy.
