New school in Katar-Faria started last year on community demand (Yatra foundation funded, 120 students) teacher training workshop from May 16- June 30 . all teachers from GSK attend this workshop and some from other schools - a creative journal ‘Morange’ is being publiched by children. - Trying to get local IT comissioner to generate some money (4-5 laks Rs.) - SDTT proposal is on hold because of RTE bill (waiting to see implication of bill) - Zankhana, Vibha’s employee in India visited GSK in Dec 2009 - Old staff have come back now due to more stable funding - Jaganpura school has got affiliation from Rajasthan Education Board - Teachers have weekly workshop on Saturdays - Faria school was started on community initiatives. They got the land for the school. - Yatra foundation is associated with a sports equipment company in India,. All these schools have new sports equipment and clothing - They have started working with govt. schools to get their child-centric innovative education system incorporated. they have a 5 year, 100 school mission - GSK wants to enhance responsibility of Jaganpura and Bodal schools as resource centers - Teacher support for attitudinal issues, behaviour patterns and approach, link up with ISABS (Indian institue for attitude and behavioral science) - Communities are made aware of difference in teaching methods in GSK schools and govt. schools, classroom atmosphere etc. - Awareness about student-teacher, student-student, teacher-treacher and school-community relations - Importance of fine arts in education Funding - overall budget: Rs. 54.1 lakhs - community liason: Rs 6.36 lakhs - Asha-Austin ~ Rs. 10 lakhs (only 5 lakhs have been communicated to project) - Vibha ~ Rs 6.8 Lakhs - Yatra ~ 2.65 Lakhs - Unsupported ~ Rs 28 Lakhs - Have applied for from Edelgive: ~ 10 Lakhs - Asha-SV support (2009-10): Rs 14.6 Lakhs - Budget for Asha-SV (requirement is 18 Lakhs): chapter policy not to increase funding from last year’s. Asha-Austin doesn’t have funds right now.. that’s why they have only promised 5 lakhs. Q: What’s their core basic requirements?
