In the interest of establishing the partnership between the two organizations. * Proposal sent for two schools - Bharadwaja Mithila Vidyalayam and Vasista Mithila Vidyalayam. About Circle of Goodwill - Formed by a few social service-oriented volunteers and registered in 1986. Main objective is to help the poor and need in the fields of Education, Health, Rehabilitation and Environment protection. This group also partners with a group called World Teachers Trust for some of its activities. The NGO accounts are readily available and willing to share them if requested. The accounts are audited annually and submitted to Govt of India. The NGO does have FCRA clearance to recieve foreign funds (Please confirm ?). I. Bharadwaja Mithila Vidyalayam - * Supports education for children of daily workers (carpenters, daily labor, and children from slum areas). * Has about 179 students and 10 teachers. Eigth year in runing. Runs classes till VIII standard. * Typically hire social-work/volunteer - oriented people as teachers. * Teachers recieve some compensation for their time. * School is located in a slum / low income areas of Vishakapatnam. * Currently the school is in thatched houses. There is a possibility of getting a construction-permit to build temporary sheds. * Land is available for future expansion. * Land belongs to the World Teachers Trust organization. * Goal is to have classes till 10 th standard. * This year, admission was refused to about 40 children due to lack of funds, resources and bandwidth. * The need is high as there are a number of children that do not go to school in this area. * Students are provided with 2 pairs of uniforms and education materials. Breakfast and some meals (may not be a full lunch) to supplement their dietary needs. * Proposal submitted requesting INR 4,04837.00 (USD 10,121 @ 1 USD = INR 40/-) * Proposal includes a "Maintenance" component in the amount of INR 1,59,650 (USD 3991). More details on this were requested. * Proposal also includes a Re-roofing and renovation expense in the amount of INR 62,730 (USD 1568). More details on this were requested. II. Vasista Mithila Vidyalayam - * Supports education for children of fishermen and daily workers. * Located in a rural area. * Supports about 137 children till classes IV standard. More than 50% of the children come from the firsherman families. * Has three teachers, who are given some compensation. * Land belongs to Circle of Goodwill. Land was donated by the Endowments Dept of AP Govt. * Goal is to have classes till VII Standard. * There is a proposal from the local govt to establish a govt school in the area for high school needs. Still a govt proposal only. * Some funding available in the past. A couple of individuals did provided some considerable amount in the past. * Financial support from the Govt is not available. * Circle of Goodwill also runs a homeopathy dispensary in this facility to help the local community. * Students do get a full lunch meal as part of the mid-day meals. The school employees a cook to prepare the meals. * Students are provided with uniforms and education materials. * Proposal submitted for INR 202517 (USD 5062). * Proposal includes a "Maintenance" component in the amount of INR 62159 (USD 1554).
