Dear Mr. Kulkarni, Thanks for your response after going through our clarification. I suppose that our clarification on various sources of funding apparently have given you a pretty nice picture of our organisational sustainability. Given under our explanations on few fresh points raised by you:- Q A. I went through your clarifications. It seems that your organization is pretty much sustainable. We can suport such organizations if a. there is plan of expansion in terms of new schools/ additional students or b. if some source of funding is getting discontinued. Ans. A. Please note that our donors’ fund is specifically earmarked for particular projects while we have some projects like our Pre –Primary schools which are facing acute financial crisis as these are not being assisted by any funding agency. We somehow meet the project expenditure by raising small donations from individual donors. These kinds of sources of funding are uncertain and irregular and often get discontinued. Naturally we opt for funding from your esteemed organisation for smooth running of our existing Pre –Primary schools. With your funding support we will be happy to cover additional students. Currently we have 343 numbers of students in 14 Pre –Primary schools. With your funding assistance we will be happy to cover nearly 550 students in those existing schools. This arrangement will additionally cover more than 200 needy children without increasing the running cost. Q B. How can your primary school is generating that much funds itself ? Ans. B. You have asked as to how our primary school can generate the mentioned amount of funds itself. Please note that our Primary School is located near to Kolaghat Thermal Power Project (KTPP), India’s biggest thermal power plant. We have more than 85% students who come from KTPP town. They are the children of the employees of KTPP, financially able to pay school fees and other charges, which enables us to generate the mentioned amount of funds itself. However after meeting the total running cost we can keep a very marginal excess income over expenditure to sustain the primary school. Q C. There might be a site visit in the next few months from one of our Asha volunteers. Ans. C. We are happy to know that there might be a site visit in the next few months by one of your Asha volunteers. Please note that it is convenient to travel to our organisation is by road from Kolkata Airport. Kolaghat is connected with Kolkata by National Highway (NH-6), Kolkata – Mumbai road. The distance of the site from Kolkata Airport is around 90 kms . By car it takes around 1½ hours. We will give you more details about the route before the visit of Asha volunteer. Waiting eagerly for the next communication from you . With warm regards. Ajoy Kumar Chakraborty Secretary Nabarun Seva Niketan.
