Providing educational scholarships to girls of poor families and inspiring them to continue their education
1) To work for empowering the women in the community and thereby to abolish the gender inequality in the society by ensuring equal participation of women with the men in the process of social development.
2) To ensure child rights, that will make healthcare and education accessible to the poor children to ensure a better quality of lives for them, their families, and their communities.
3) To work actively in the field of ophthalmic care of the people of the community and mobilise resources towards cost free service for the vision welfare of poor and underprivileged people.
4) To facilitate the livelihood activities for the poorer section of the society by organizing training and loan provisions.
5) To facilitate the basic healthcare facilities in rural areas based on Traditional Indian System of Medicines.
6) To work for the needy older people of the community and provide them a ‘better quality of life.
7) To facilitate comprehensive rural development programmes for the local community- people, integrated with above mentioned objectives.
8) To facilitate socio-economic and socio- cultural advancement in the local community
Nabarun Seva Niketan is a registered society; a community based social development NGO, established in the year 1976. Initially the organisation emerged as Nabarun Sporting club in early 70’s when a group of youngsters of Panskura block in Midnapur district of West Bengal started their Club for sports and games. In the year 1976 , in order to initiate social welfare movement throughout the district with active participation of community people the club got registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 as a non-profit, non-political NGO located in the remote village of Pulsita in Kolaghat Block under undivided Medinipur district. Afterwards in the year 1988 ,with the change in objectives from mere ‘Sporting activities’ to ‘Work for comprehensive development of society’, the NGO was renamed as Nabarun Seva Niketan.
