Purpose / Goals

Asha DC received another proposal in February 2006 to start a library movement spanning 5000 villages in Tamil Nadu. The cost of one library is about $30 per year. Asha DC has approved partial funding for 500 libraries.

Organization Description

AID Chennai has been very active in Tamil Nadu since 2001. Their work has spanned education, health, disaster relief, and microcredit amongst other activities. • If it is towards a project that is currently being supported, for something that is not covered in the budget that was approved, it has to be approved at a chapter before the funds can be sent.
  • In either case, the website has to be updated with the budget proposal and other details before funds can be sent.
  • If the project is not actively supported by AFE currently, the funds will be used towards other projects.
