Asha for Education is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization founded in 1991 and comprised of students and professionals across the U.S. as well as in India. Asha for Education funds grass-roots-level educational projects in India that attempt to improve the future of under-privileged children. By giving these children education, occupational and social skills, these projects help in improving the community as a whole. Asha Salt Lake City Asha Salt Lake City is one of the newest but actively growing chapters of Asha. Established in october 2001 as a satellite chapter, Asha Salt Lake City now has a core team of 10+ volunteers and is committed towards Asha's mission of socio economic change through education. So far, Asha Salt Lake City has supported two projects - Look Ahead Project in Jaipur, Rajasthan and Save The Children Home in Kolkatta, West Bengal. The goal of this website is to promote awareness about the Asha movement amidst the Salt Lake City community and encourage motivated and enthusiastic people to take part in the movement.
