Kerala Independent Fish Worker’s Federation Kerala Independent Fish Worker’s Federation is a community-based organization, operating in the State of Kerala with an extensive reach of about 590 km long coastal line, 222 coastal villages,113 inland fishery villages and 10 lakhs fishermen (including families). They are working in tsunami affected villages in the Alappey and Kollam districts in Kerala. We are in the process of evaluating a project proposal from them involving establishment of livelihood in terms of providing for the fishing equipment as well as long term goals such as awareness raising programs in eco-friendly enterprises, coastal protection campaign and mangrove tree plantation. |
