Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about our Support a School program. If you have any questions that is not answered here please feel free to email us.
What is Support a School?
Support a school is a program where an individual sponsors the cost associated with running a school for the underprivileged children in India.
What does my donation cover?
Your donation covers teachers salary, Tiffin for children (200 days a year), education and training material and other miscellaneous expenditures. All these for only $25 a month!
Can I choose the school I support?
You can choose the school you want to support from the list of schools here. The ones listed in green are already supported. The ones in red need support.
How long do I need to support?
We ask for at least one year's support, but will prefer your continued support to achieve our goals.
How can I donate?
There are many ways you can donate for support a school. The preferred method for donation is online here. You can also set up a recurring online donation here. If you prefer, you can also write a check and mail it to: Asha for Education, Seattle Chapter, 23608 NE 45th Place, Redmond, WA 98053. If you are donating online or setting up a recurring donation make sure you select Seattle as the chapter and in the comments section mention the project you are donating to (in this case Support a School - CMS). Similarly while writing a check please mention Support a school (CMS) in the memo field.
Is my contribution tax-deductable?
Yes, your donation is 100% tax-deductible. For tax purposes we send you receipts of your donations periodically.
