Meeting minutes of Nov 20, 2002

Attendees: Lakshmi, Sunil, Amlan, Shrinivas, Vinay,
Ravi, Raja, Venkat, Swati, Deepak, Jayant, Manisha,
Jayshree Krishnan

Agenda:
1) Asha Event : Jayshree Krishnan
2) Gujarat Proposal (Swati/Shohini); including
earthquake rehab (old), and new project proposal (post
riots)
3) Asha India conference (at Timbuktu collective)
4) Volunteer help in organizing meetings and as an
interface with other asha related yahoo groups

1) event: Jayshree proposed and discussed a proposed
asha event (dance program). Possible venue’s, pricing
and total expected participants were discussed, with
details on how profitable this can be.
2) (a) The Gujarat proposal was reviewed carefully,
with strong discussions and question sessions
throughout. The proposal related to a riot-relief
project. Questions asked included if the project could
be funded for a year and then evaluated, what are the
details/background of the organization running it,
what is their skill in trauma related areas, who makes
their resource group, and how children of different
age groups were proposed to be handled etc.
(b) Dhanvantri School’s new proposal was also
discussed. The proposal had a huge cost, without clear
breakdown. It was a proposal for major expansion.
Lakshmi said she will find out and get back on this.
3) Asha India: we reviewed in detail Shanmuga’s
proposal, and a heated discussion followed it.
4) Venkat volunteered to help organize
meetings/agendas etc. Vinay said he would coordinate
Aha wide yahoo groups.
