The first discussion was about the screening of the movie Mitr. We came up
with a task list. Essentially a list of mailing lists, restaurants etc where
flyers can be distributed. Shirin took the task of making the flyers. There
was a discussion on that a standard rate should be charged to all UW and
non-UW and we decided on 8 dollars. Jayashree was to follow up if Revathi ‘s
visit price could be brought down.
Algorithm a musical group has agreed to perform in August as a fundraiser
event for Asha. They will be providing the venue etc - however they want to do
it under Asha ‘s banner. All profit above $1500/2000 would be for Asha.
Jayashree is to follow up with Sangeeta on the terms and then Kumar is to be
the point person for this event.
Kumar handed out sheets, which have Project Coordination and process
guidelines. Also attached here. The document has been through 2/3 iterations
with a smaller team of people- please READ THE DOCUMENT and send feedback to
Kumar. Shankar is going to be the project coordinator’s coordinator. He will
ensure that projects coordinators follow the process guidelines.
Jayashree touched base on the urgency of fund raising- due to the economic
condition and receding stock donations. One of the approaches mentioned was
for project coordinators to get donors to fund specific/ their own projects.
This has worked well in the past. Also one of the first steps for this would
be to create a one-page doc for your project - which can be used effectively
with donors. Anita/Jayashrree have worked on this for Digantar and will be
sending out a sample document.
Communal violence in India - AID is sending out a statement for peace - Asha
