Subject: Questions for project coords
I have couple of questions for project coords. Actually, one of them is a concern and I want to know what could be done this year to address this concern.

a) My first question relates to RTE and I want to know what plans cords have to engage projects which may be benefited by its implementation.
Of course, it is still an early stage for RTE. We don’t know to what extent RTE will help to improve the quality of education in India. Nevertheless, we need to be proactive about it and should have some concrete plans for this year.

b) My other concern is the delay we see with funds disbursement for our projects. First, we start out with the proposal, then there are discussions for couple of weeks on the list/in the meetings and finally we get to the poll. All these things are important and critical for project assessment and I have no question on the process. I would think that every project takes about 1 month to complete this process. However, there are cases we see some delays on getting answers from our partners or stewards are late to bring to meeting or the polls are open for more than 2 weeks. The net result is the delay in disbursing the money to the project.
Is it possible for the current cords team to look at these delays more carefully and see what can be done to minimize the chances of occurrence? For example, if stewards start the process in time by taking the margin of about a month or so and plan ahead, these situations could be avoided. I am not sure how strongly this could be enforced, however.

Subject: To the projects coords
As a chapter we have many volunteers - and quite a few people on the ashasv-vol list. Yet, for years now, we have had trouble getting the quorum of 10 votes for a project approval. Do you have any ideas on how we might improve this?

Subject: Question for TA-coords team
I like Mahesh\'s point on going paperless.

Can we also focus on going green, and less use of paper-cups and other things? The amount of waste generated by a program like TA over 24 weeks with 200 runners is enormous.

A parallel question could be on the East Bay TA program. It would be useful if the leads can update the chapter on the progress once you get into leadership roles within the program.

Thanks,
Dilip
