Pictures from the Ankur school where the Support A Child program is planning to send select children. These children were first identified by another of Asha's projects called Akshardeep that reaches out to children in the urban slums of Pune. Five Akshardeep children have already made a transition to Ankur with encouraging results. 14-year old Vithal, for instance started out as a loner who had difficulties completing his work. In just a few weeks, he developed liking for school to a point where he felt sorry about missing a day.
