Antakshari

Congratulations and thanks to all those
who competed and attended Antakshari with Asha Stanford on July 17,
2004. Hosted by KZSU DJs Manoneet Singh and Mamta Sinha, six teams
competed for various prizes. First place went to Nupura Pradhan and
Anshu Johri of Team Khanak
A close second went to Team Hum-Tum
(Neha Kumar and Abhishek Das).
Team Chapoos (Rajiv
Agarwal and Sanket) finished third. The other enthusiastic teams
included Bakaits (Utkarsh Srivastava and Ritimukta Sarangi), Team
Sargam (Ankur Jain and Upasana Taku) and Team Spyder (Amit Jain and
Shalabh Gupta).
The event also included dinner, prepared by Asha volunteers, for nearly

Antakshari hosted by KZSU DJ's Mamta and Manoneet on 17 July 5 pm
onwards. There will be followed by food and an open dance floor.

Antakshari is a musical game. It is played in a group of two
or more. Rules are simple - the first person starts the game
by singing a song. The letter with which the song ends is
passed on to the next contestant. The next person has to sing
a song starting with the same letter as the last song ended with.

Holi 2003 (March 22, 2003)
Mark your calendars - March 22nd, 2003, Wilbur Fields, the fourth
edition of Asha Stanford Holi. Tickets are $12 (general) and $8 (students)

ICC World CUp 2003 Live Telecast (Feb 9 - March 23, 2003) Stanford Cricket
Club is organizing live telecase of all the games of the ICC
World Cup 2003, South Africa, 9 Feb - 23 March at the Bechtel
International Center, Stanford University.

Work an Hour 2002
(July 4 - Sept 5, 2002)
WAH closed on September 5, 2002. This year Asha raised over
$90,000 from about 1300 donors. Thank you to all friends and
volunteers of Asha who supported us in this.
Asha's largest annual event where you can donate at least an hour
or more of your salary towards 4 education projects for
the underprivileged children in India. This event runs from July 4 to
August 15, 2002. This year the target is $100,000. Asha-Stanford is
coordinating the event this year.

Dr. N. Ramani
in concert (May 5, 2001) Dr. N. Ramani and
accompanying artists gave a superb performance to an audience of
several hundred people at Kresge Auditorium, Stanford
University.
Holi celebration
(March 19, 2000)
Asha-Stanford organized Holi on Sunday, March 19th at
Wilbur field, in Stanford
University. The event was a huge success with a complete sell
out crowd of nearly 700 people showing up with friends and

Indian
classical music concert (October 2, 1999) Sri Krishnan, Sri Chary and Sri Brahmanandam
enthralled a packed audience in Kresge Auditorium at Stanford
University with a great Carnatic instrumental music concert. The
concert was organized to mark the 130th birth anniversary of
Mahatma Gandhi and was received very well.
World Cup matches
Telecast (May 14th to June 20th 1999)
Asha-Stanford made arrangements for the local cricket
enthusiasts to watch the World Cup Cricket matches live. The event
received an overwhelming response from a diverse mix of Indians,
Australians, South Africans and Pakistanis to name a
few. Arrangements were made for people to enjoy hot idlis and
sambhar at breakfast time, for most of the well-attended
