We had a new member today. Sonia. Natarajan to add Sonia's and Kalyan,
another person interested to join Asha to the asha core listserve.

Group to consider changing the name of the 'Penny Drive' to 'Dime
Drive', 'Dollar Drive'....

Radha had a suggestion to get people who collect more than $25 to talk
publically on how they collected the money.

Asha T-shirts: 11 have been given out to date,3 to penny box price
winners, 2 shirts were taken by Pradeep for which Pradeep has to pay and
6 T-shirts were bought by Asha members.

Initially, people were deeply concerned with Kabir's absence, but his
entry later was a relief to all.

25 Asha calendars to be bought. These calendars would be given to
deserving donors. Any remaining calendars will be sold by Asha members.
Radha will buy the calenders. The idea of giving other Asha memorabilia
such as mugs,key chains to deserving donors was also considered.

All members will work to collect donations from friends and relatives
during the winter break.

For sending letters asking for donations to ICRCC, it was decided to
see, if it would be possible to send the Asha letter with the ICRCC
newsletter.Radha to find this out by 7th December. If this is not
possible, letters will not be posted to ICRCC members.

Donation letters to be send to all Indian faculty in Syracuse University
using campus mail.
For this, Vikas to typeout the names of all Indian Professors by the 8th
of December and mail it to Radha.
Donation letters to be prepared by Kabir and the letters to be given to
Radha by 9th December.
Sonia to supply campus envelopes
Radha to do the posting of these letters by Monday 10th December.

Kabir to send a letter of thanks to 'Friends of Ananya'

Members who have not provided their biodata's and photo's to the Asha
website, to do so immediately to Kabir.

Information on previous projects funded by Asha to be given by Radha to
Kabir to update Ashasyracuse website(Little star &..)

Pradeep to inform the group on the latest developments on the film
festival.

A new program of supporting children of Indian house maids was
discussed.This would be promoted as a Asha Syracuse project throughout
Asha. The group to come up with a name for this project and discuss
about the program by brainstroming.


In future, Asha's name to be promoted in listserves , for any online
voting for awards.THis was in reference to the fact that CRY was
promoted in the SU Indian listserve and not Asha was not promoted in a
recent online vote .

A mail to be sent to Asha core members, asking members who are not
interested, if they would want their names to be taken out of the
listserve.

The next meeting will a pot luck meeting at Radha's place. Date Thursday
13th , 7.00PM.This would be the last meeting in this semester.
