Minutes of the meeting on 12/06/03

Agenda: - Would the new group of ASHA core members want to completely take over the operations of the organization?

Attendees:- Radha Ganeshan, Rishi Singhal, Shweta Kasana, Surjit Ghanta, Sucharita, Sejal Patel, Jagdish Chander

Radha: - The new committee needs to decide if they would want to organize “Basant Mela” in Spring 2004. If yes, then they would have to start the planning during the winter break itself and make themselves comfortable with the way the organization works. They are always welcome to ask the old members of the committee for any sort of help or advice. For instance, Sucharita would be helping with the management of the funds along with the new Asha member who agrees to be the treasurer ( perhaps two members: Rishi and Ramesh). The venue needs to be decided taking into consideration that Goldstein seems a preferred but difficult choice. The time slot allowed in Goldstein would not be enough for an event like Basant Mela.

The new members, Rishi, Surjit, Shweta and Ramesh decided enthusiastically to organize Basant Mela as it is a good opportunity to raise money for ASHA.

Radha: - Also, the transition process is going to start now as the old members hand over the responsibilities to the new ones gradually over a period of time. A decision about the positions needs to be made.

Decisions about positions to be made in the next meeting after the winter break, that is, in January.

After the short yet informative meeting, Radha treated everybody with a delicious dinner.
