Minutes: Date : 29^th feb,2004

People Present : Surjit Ghanta, Radha Ganeshan, Virat Chirania, Niranjan, Sucherita,

 Action Items :

1. Newsletter : Deadline : march 31^st.

It was decided that the newsletter “Notes of Hope” shall be produced no later than March 31^st. Virat Chirania took the responsibility for editing the newsletter. The previous newsletter was handed to him by Surjit to help model the new one on the same lines.

2. Task Force:

The Project Team : The members of the Project Team are Surjit Ghanta and Sucherita. Sucherita will be guiding Surjit to help ASHA decide which new projects need to be given consideration.

3. Change for Change :

a)      Need Yogurt Dabbas.

b)      Need 11 by 7 paper to wrap up the yogurt dabbas.

c)      The week decided was 19^th march to 26^th march.

d)      It was brought to our notice that Schine centre actually provides the facility of free Xeroxes for recognized bodies like ASHA.

e)      It was decided to target different departments on different days for the Change to Change drive.

4 Basant Mela : 

a)      Breakdown of estimated expenditure :

·        Venue : 200 $

·        Food : 500 $

·        Music : 500 $

·        Security : 150 $

·        Booths : 300 $

·        Missecaleneous : 100 $

·        Photos/Recording the event : 100 $

·        Asha Booth :100 $

·        TOTAL : 1950 $

b)      It was unanimously decided that ACC shall be the venue for Basant Mela. The other option was Goldstein but it was cancelled by everybody.

c)      Radha announced that ASHA had secured a grant of 900 $from Syracuse City in affiliation with the ACC. However the grant was given for the purpose of a cultural performance and hence some of us had issues of ethical and moral values with using that money, the discussion of which is beyond the scope of this Minutes.

d)      The Committees for the Mela were decided to be :

·        Entertainment Committee – Virat Chirania

·        Advertising Committee

·        Food Committee

·        Logistics Committee – Niranjan

·        Funding Committee

e)      The list of past donors was given by Radha to help raise the funds.

f)        Some particular questions regarding Funding activities like the mode of accepting funds and the name in which the funds needs to be accepted were put forward to Radha .
