6. There was a lot of discontentment among the Asha volunteers regarding SU's approach to sponsor organized by the student organizations like Asha in the off campus activities in places like ACC and a lot of time and energy is wasted in negotiating about this issue. Therefore, Dean Wolfe of Hendricks Chapel will join us to talk about and clarify this issue with the university after the Basant Mela.

Basant Mela preparations

1. Publicity : GSO Diversity Funds and Office of Multicultural Affairs has given us $500 and $2010 respectively, through a proposal submitted by Asha-Syracuse. The poster for the Mela is almost ready. Jags will prepare the draft of the press release as well as the publicity e-mail for the Mela and circulate it to the Publicity Committee. He also suggested that it is a nice idea to distribute a brochure with the tickets of the Mela containing brief information about Asha Syracuse and the event. Radha will prepare this information brochure  about the Mela. Rohan suggested that we should reach out to the non Indian affluent community of Syracuse. he will join PR team and work on stage management as well as will also try to bring daily orange people for dress rehearsals.

2. Jags will coordinate the equipment rental and seek the information about it from Uma. Olson will be assisting him in this process.

3. No tickets will be given to any one without getting payment for it as it caused a lot of problem last year. Radha explained that Some people took the tickets and could not sell them and some Asha volunteers had to pay for some performers and never got reimbursed for that. Therefore, as a matter of policy no tickets will be given to any one without payment this time.
