Date: 11/1/2001
Venue: 230 Schine Student Centre
Attendees: Pradeep J. Tharakan, Maya Chandrasekaran,
Vikas Choudhry,
Veronica George, Shanmuganathan, Radha Ganesan, Natarajan,
Kabir Kumar and
Jerry Kalarickal.
* Project details handed over by Pradeep to Vikas
Choudhry.
* Details of Dhananjayan's fine-arts school were
circulated by Radha.
* Natarajan to apply for GSO funds for T-Shirts.
Depending on the number of
T-Shirts to be purchased, an estimate of the amount
needed will be specified
by Radha.
* It was decided to buy 25 (or) 50 T-Shirts. Specifications
include, large
size and evenly split between black and white colours.
To distribute the
T-Shirts it was decided to hold an event - a movie
screening, possibly -
after Thanksgiving. Nov-30 was proposed as a possible
date. Asha will screen
a movie if SIA does not screen one on that date. Left-over
bookmarks could
also be given to successful penny pinchers.
* DP's meeting to be scheduled on 16th November at
around 11:00AM-1:30PM in
Maxwell's Global Collabratory (060). This will be
a brownbag event. Radha
will intimate DP about the topic. It was proposed
that he talk about his own
work with Asha and how anyone could participate in
Asha. In addition, it was
planned to hold a meeting of interested Asha members
on the previous day
evening or that very evening. Natarajan will show
him around SU's campus.
* Vikas will send an email about the project details
by Sunday. He will be
sending it over this listserv for others kind perusal.
* Kabir informed the group that the database work
is, finally, over.
Everyone thanked everyone else.
* Radha has contacted Pankaj about getting an official
document from Asha
for Asha-Syracuse chapter.
* Kabir informed the group that the letter for soliciting
funds from ICRCC
members is being prepared. Various ideas were floated
(and shot down) on how
Asha can thank the donors.
* Radha urged the members to solicit donations from
their friends. (Amounts
like $20 from 5 friends was given as an estimate.)
* Shanmugham gladly agreed to do/re-do Asha-Syracuse's
website. For further
details on the website itself he can be contacted
directly. It was decided
that an option to let members join Asha-Syr's listserv
should be provided on
the website itself.
