The meeting was chaired by Surjit Ghanta. The following people were present at the meeting :

The events discussed and the associated Action Events are as follows :

 

1)    The Talk by Mr.Ramamurthy  :

                                          

Mr.Ramamurthy will give a talk briefing us about his organization, Siksha, based in Bangalore, India. The talk will be held at Room No.107, Hall of Languages on the 13th of October at 7.30 in the evening.

 

Action Event :

a) Surjit will post a mail on the Indians List Serve

b) Radha will finalize the e-mail publicity

c) Ashok will get the password and other venue related things

 

2)  Formatting the Newsletter (Notes of Hope)    :

 

                                                Jagdish is the Editor for this edition of the Newsletter. He is helped by Radha on the Project Descriptions, by Sucherita on the Profile. The newsletter will also cover past events like the Basant Mela and other work done by ASHA.

 

  Action  Event :

a)      Surjit has volunteered to edit the next Newsletter

b)      Ashok will assist in the publicity aspect of the Newsletter

 

 

3. Updating the website and managing the List serve :

 

                        Surjit and Avinash will manage the software show and the web related projects.

 

Action Event :

a)      Finishing the website and the changes to be made

b)      Updating the Database for ASHA

 

4.    Presentations next week :

 

Some of the Asha members have volunteered to study some ASHA projects and brief the group the next time.The names of the people and their chosen projects are as follows:

 

  1. Bhagwat for “TRY”
  2. Ramesh and Ashok for “Ananya”
  3. Arjun, Nikhil and Virat for “RMKM”
  4. Surjit for “Ushagram”

 

 

5.     Task Groups :

 

For the more efficient functioning of ASHA, ASHA members have been grouped under the following Task Groups :

 

a)      Project Selection         :    Ashok, Bhagwat, Surjit and Sucherita

b)      PR and Fund Raising  :     Avinash,Virat,Sejal, Sucherita and Surjit

c)      Talks and Seminars     :     Radha and Jagdish

      d)  Administration             :     Ramesh, Sucherita, Avinash and Surjit

      e)  Treasure/Finance         :     Arjun and Sucherita

 

 

6.     Regular Meetings :

A general consensus for the regular meetings timings and day could not be achieved but for the following meeting, it will be held on Sunday evening at 6.00 PM at the Conference Room.

 

 

7.     Masti 2003 :

 

  ASHA presents MASTI 2003, the most promising and exciting event for this  semester. The following details about the event have been decided :

7.30 to 8.30   - Food Break

8.30 to 10.15 – Garba/Dandia
