Hi there! You see me here because I am participating in the 30th Annual Gate River Run on March 10th 2007 at Jacksonville, FL, one of the top running events in the United States. And more importantly for a cause, to collect funds for Asha. Because I know that this small contribution can change someone's life for the better and of course mine. I owe this much to those who are not as lucky as me to be born with the basic privileges.

About me

I am a second year master's student in the department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering. My association with Asha goes back to 2000 when I sold Asha calendars to collect a sum of over $100.

My running experience

I have been running off and on for the past 10 yrs mostly to stay fit. In the past six months I have been running 3 miles twice a week mostly on the treadmill. When in school I had participated in a 5km charity walk. Otherwise I have been active on the tennis court and in the swimming pool. I am determined to run the whole 9 mile non-stop and create a record for myself.

My Request

"When you contribute to other people's lives...you also contribute to your own". I think the act of donation is not completely selfless since you are indirectly helping yourself. Please donate towards Asha, then you can sleep better with the feeling that someone out there, a child born equal like us, can indeed have a childhood.
