Born in a peaceful locality in Mumbai (Bombay), India, I had a good schooling and completed my bachelor in engineering from a well known college in Mumbai. I have always loved great food and especially having a loving mom who is a great cook helps..:))..Well, some may argue that my love for food is the reason for my plump physique. In my defense, I can run long distances..:).. One thing I love more than food is "cosmos"... (Psst...I will tell you one secret..I don't know two hoots about space. But the word sounds cool..). I managed to convince a few people of my love for it and here I am pursuing my PhD. in aerospace engineering with a real cool advisor and am currently working on a great project. (If you want to know what my project is...too bad..its classified..:)..) Asha and me "A man who won't die for something is not fit to live." My Running experience I began running with this group in mid 07. Our coaches, Rick, Dana the group have done a great job to keep me motivated. I ran my first 'Gate River Run' in 2008. It was a wonderful experience and here I am all set to run the second River Run (15 K) and atleast one half marathon (13 miles) in early 2009. |
My Request
I am running for the cause of education and shelter of underprivileged kids in India. Last year with your support and encouragement I was able to raise close to $950. This year since I am running a 13 mile half marathon along with a 15 K run I hope to set more support from you and have set out a target of atleast $1200. I assure you that every penny you donate to 'Asha for Education' UFlorida chapter will go towards supporting our projects in India. I hope you share our vision and take up the cause and support the underprivileged kids through me in whatever way you can.

Asha for Education
Asha for Education is an international non-profit organization committed
to providing basic education for underprivileged children in India in the belief that
education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change.
Till date, Asha has supported more than 385 different child education projects spanning 24
states in India. In terms of project funding, almost $4,000,000 has been disbursed to
these projects since Asha's inception. In 2002 alone, Asha chapters raised and disbursed
more than $1,000,000 to over 200 projects.
