    Name

      ASHA - UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) Chapter.

    Purpose

      To help the cause of basic education for the underprivileged children in India. Also, to support and cooperate with persons and groups already engaged in similar activities.

    Membership

      Membership is open to anyone who is interested, including off-campus community members. We will not restrict membership based upon race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age or handicap.

    Organization

    The organization is divided into four focus-groups, namely:

    1. Publicity and Fund-raising
    2. Projects
    3. Database
    4. Community Service

      Each focus group will have a group leader/co-ordinator, selected by consensus.

      In addition to the focus group leaders, there will be a President and a Treasurer.

      The President coordinates the tasks of the four focus groups, interfaces with ASHA chapters at other colleges and universities.

      The treasurer's duties include advising all focus groups on the feasibilty of projects, and handle reimbursements in a competent and timely fashion.

    group leaders send out summarized account of the meetings proceedings to the entire group. Also, all focus groups meet on the second saturday of each month to discuss future activities.
