Odanadi
Seva Samasthe, based in Mysore, India, runs a
relentless campaign to expose and curb the flesh
trade and has emerged as a leading and powerful
voice advocating the cause of prostituted women
in India. They have rescued over 400 girls, most
of them minors, from the clutches of the flesh
traffickers in
various parts of Karnataka. As many as 350 women
have been rehabilitated with an alternative livelihood
and integrated in to the mainstream society. Odanadi
has also established a permanent residential school
and
rehabilitation centre ('Prayoga Patha') for the
children of the sexually exploited women. |
Odanadi
enters the new millennium with a very clear perception
of the unfinished tasks that lie ahead. Their immediate
goal is to continue rescue operations and build
a new rehabilitation center to accommodate the minor
girls rescued from prostitution. Every child deserves
a free, secure and healthy environment. We need
your support to help these girls lead normal
lives again.
