Action Items pertaining to WAH 2007's projects:
Assam Center for Rural Development (ACRD):
Contact : projects@ashanet.org
- Help with organizing or investigating teacher training workshops - networking with other orgs/resources.
- Investigate possible distance education programs - for e.g. sattellite TV in assamese.
Khajurdaha Nabankur United Club - LTTO:
Contact : Sridhar Desikan
- Help with recognition of LTTO school as a board certified school.
- Help with getting government support for the noon meals program that Asha currently supports.
- Help with Teacher training and learning materials in Bengali.
To Reach You (TRY):
Contact : Deepa Vardarajan
- Personal visits, organized field trips and career counselling would be of great help.
- Help by spending time in the weekend to teach vocational or computer skills.
- Support in kind - books (for a library), furniture (study tables, book shelves, cupboards) and emergency lights.

Volunteer as a teacher with a grassroots organization in India. Share your acquired knowledge. We would be glad to point you to our projects in regions close to you.

Best way to retain children in school is to implement universal compulsory education of children. Join campaigns to ratify Right to Education bill.

You can use tools such as Right to Information to expose corruption and
irregularities in functioning of government bodies for e.g. the
mid-day-meals program, Department of Education etc. (RTI campaign)
The US Embassy in Washington DC now accepts these applications from all
Indian Nationals in the US for $0.24 per application!
- Join the WAH publicity team and spread the word!
- Work An Hour @ a restaurant, local store, etc. and donate the proceeds to Asha for Education
