Every year the Work An Hour campaign raises money for several unique and deserving projects selected from Asha's pool of projects. The 11 projects selected this year focus around the theme "Better Schools. Better Retention Rates. Decreased Child Labor." I chose to make Asha the beneficiary because I believe in their focus on basic education of underprivileged children in India & this year's theme to help mitigate child labor. I also know that 100% of what I donate reaches the children without funds being diverted towards overhead. I am sure this would appeal to you and strongly urge you to support Work an Hour in its 10th year of inception. Between now & Sept 5 th please consider donating just an hour's worth or more of your salary towards Asha's projects. $200,000 is a lot of money to raise and every penny you donate will help children at the 11 projects chosen across India. Aralu Belaku WAH donations will help fund meals for the children at the residential home. Bidar, Karnataka $13,164 2. Assam Center for Rural Development (ACRD) WAH donations will help fund teachers salaries, cost of stationary and other recurring expenses. Kampur, Assam $11,135 3. Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha (BTS) WAH donations will fund construction of a computer center, library and installation of solar lighting for the facility. Kultali, West Bengal $9,523 4. Institute of Social Work Primary Education Project (ISW) WAH donations will help fund teachers' salary and the construction costs for a library. Kolkata docks, West Bengal $5,715 5. Khajurdaha Nabankur United Club - LTTO WAH donations will help fund the Khajurdaha High School, the only higher secondary school accessible to children in 30 villages. Rural - West Bengal $18,134 6. Needy Illiterate Children Education (NICE) WAH donations will help fund the teachers and staff salaries. Mynampadu, Andhra Pradesh $11,800 7. Sankalp Welfare Society WAH donations will help fund a 40-seat school bus to transport graduated students from the mobile and outreach schools to the main Sankalp school. Gurgaon, Haryana $19,382 8. Team for Education and Action (TEA) WAH donations will help fund the repair and maintenance of Little Flower School Karambakkam, Tamil Nadu $6,400 9. Timbaktu Collective WAH donations will help fund sanghas (informal unions) dedicated to child development. Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh $49,075 10.
