Dr. Nachiket Mor, a 2004 Yale World Fellow, and Executive Director of India's second largest bank, ICICI, talks about the role of infrastructure financing (MACROfinance) as well small loans (MICROfinance) in development. What role has the corporate sector played in development, what role can it play? Are there "missing markets" in developing economies? What are the commercial opportunities and the how can one quantify the risk? Join Dr. Mor as he discusses ICICI Bank’s attempts at overcoming these challenges. 

About the Speaker:

Nachiket Mor is the Executive Director of ICICI Bank, one of India's premier banks and financial services holding that offer a spectrum of financial services to individuals companies.  Mor, 40, joined ICICI in his early twenties and rose quickly through the ranks, earning a reputation as both a highly skilled economist and a talented manager of people. He now manages corporate and government banking, infrastructure finance, trading and financial markets and rural and micro-banking portfolios for the Bank. Earlier this year, ICICI Bank became the first bank in the world to securitize its micro-financing portfolio. Dr. Mor has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania with a specialisation in Finance under the supervision of Professor Sanford Grossman of the Wharton School.
