ABOUT US

 
Asha for Education is an all-volunteer organisation dedicated to promoting basic education in India. Asha was founded in the summer of 1991 at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then it has since grown to over 30 chapters across the US, and has chapters in Canada, India and Singapore. Through the years Asha chapters have sponsored projects that have touched the lives of numerous children in widely varied circumstances, including abandoned children; children living in tribal areas, in the streets, and in slums; children of sex workers; and physically and mentally handicapped children.
 
 

All funds raised by Asha chapters go directly towards projects in India. Administrative expenses are raised separately or borne by volunteers
