1st Annual 5K Walk/Run

East Rock Park, New Haven, CT

Race Background: Asha-Yale's Run for Education was conceived and conducted to raise awareness and support for educational projects focussed on underprivileged children in India. Asha for Education's mission to catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children identifies education as a basic right of every child and an essential part of democracy.

Race Update: On the brisk morning of April 25, 2004, the race took the runners (and walkers) through the streets of New Haven around the picturesque East Rock area. The chilly morning soon yielded to glorious sunlight and with over 90 pre-registrations and over 60 registrations on the day of the race, a diverse group of people came together to Run for Education.
