The target group for the Srijan initiative are children from grades 6 to 10 in rural areas of Chhatisgarh. This initiative will focus on providing holistic and quality education that will raise test scores, teach children skills and promote the joy of education in children. The project partner will create and distribute learning aids, participate in curriculum development and promote child-centered joyful learning techniques They will also organize science fairs, art and crafts events, etc. Asha Beyond Borders will support this project by bearing the cost of salaries of teachers and events such as science and arts and crafts fairs, etc that Sankalp organizes.

The origins of Sankalp EK Prayas' existence can be traced backed to 2010. In their quest to build a social service NGO, the founders of SANKALP visited orphanages, old age homes, and centres for differently abled persons in and around Durg, Bhilai, Raipur region and mobilized resources for disadvantaged sections of society. Eventually they decided on making children the centerpiece of their project as they determined that many issues that needed to be addressed such as poverty, lack of healthcare, unemployment etc that plagued human development in Chhatisgarh were tied to access to education for children. “SANKALP EK PRAYAS SOCIETY” came into existence as an organization by registering under CG Society Registration Adhiniyam on 15.03.2011. The name of the organization, SANKALP, is rooted in the commitment that brought many individuals together in the hope that they would be able to make a difference in lives of disadvantaged children through their work and efforts.
